Steven Baelen lives and works in Ghent (BE) where he studied Graphic Design (1999 – 2003), Painting (2003 – 2006) and where he also did a Hisk post-graduate (2009 – 2010). In 2011 he did a 3-month residency at the Akademie der Künste, Berlin (DE) where he developed and published an artist book ‘Der Raum im Verzug / Drawn space’. In 2016, he became Laureate of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium (Arts section). His practice is deeply rooted in drawing and is being represented by Levy.Delval in Brussels (BE)
